This week we spend in Salt Lake being trained on family history! We took the train from Provo to Salt Lake and then transferred to light rail to arrive at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We spent our days learning from the different departments some of the resources that will be available to help us to effectively carry out our mission when we arrive in Guam. The training was excellent and the trainers were very gracious.

We were divided into small groups we were with three other couples. The Lambert's are going to West Virginia, Charleston, the Lund's going to Utah Salt Lake City and Phippen's and they are going to Arizona Tucson. We will be spending this week with then learning more about the missions we have been called to. The two people on the ends were our Trainers.
On Monday morning August 3, 2015 Ashley, Tammy and girls drove us to the MTC. It was sad to say goodbye but exciting to start new adventures. The first few hours was spent checking in and settling in to our home for the next ten days. We met about a 120 missionaries go to various states and countries around the world.
We left Fargo, ND on Tuesday, July 28 to start our trek to the Missionary Training Center (MTC). We stopped in Yellowstone to see Old Faithful! Art had never been there so we decided to take a detour to see. The drive was beautiful driving from Montana and down through the park. We then met my cousin at her cabin in Island Park, Idaho. It was fun to visit with them! They had recently return from a mission to Nauvoo, Illinois. We continued our trip to Pocatello to see more relatives before we met out daughter and her family in Utah. We spend a couples days with her and then our dear friend Tammy from Colorado flew out to spend time with us and to drive back to Nevada with Ashley and her two girls. Eric had to return to start his second year in medical school.
