When we go to Yap we must spend four days, that is the only time they have flights in and out. The best part is that you fly in the middle of the night to Yap and Palau. This last flight to Yap we were on the plane to leave at 11:00 PM, we boarded the plane and pulled away from the gate. Then it was announced that there was an issue and because we were flying in the middle of the night the pilot pulled back to the gate and we had to get off the plane. They had to get the luggage off and get it on another plane, get the caterers to come and bring food on the plane. They brought drinks and chips for us while we waited. We finally boarded the plane. We arrived at our room at 5:00 am in the morning. Unfortunately this is pretty typical. So anyway we had an afternoon that we had no obligations so we drove around the island. Here are a few of the pictures we took.
There is a resort on the north of the island, it is no longer used as a resort but it was a beautiful place.
This is the only picture we took showing the inner island hills.
The island is very clean because the lower cast must clean the road side, as we were returning to the hotel it was starting to rain. We took these pictures of the people cleaning up the side of the road, it is difficult to see them and some had moved to get out of the rain.
